Anxiety is a natural state and has helped the human species to survive -it helps protect us. However, when the danger is not real, and emotional activation keeps happening, it can affect us a very negative way.

Anxiety occurs in response to a stressor, and it is characterized by a persistent worry, tension in the mind and body, even when the stressor is not present or not real.

Neither anxiety nor stress are dangerous, and they could even be a source of motivation or creativity. However, maintained in the long term can bring negative consequences on body and mind.
